For Those Who Pray...A Beginning

Posted by Mandy L. Gero on

Welcome...
Thank you...

If your reading this blog than our common space is prayer... perhaps because we practice a religion or we do not fear using this word prayer as though it is just for a few but something that is utterly consuming as well as practiced in our daily ways...everywhere...within and among everyone...the magnitude is quite magnificent when we ponder that we pray...

Prayer is common space from the Beginning...our heartbeat in the womb growing our every cell resounds in human space...our cry as air of this earth thrusts through our lungs for the first time...an exhalation prayer as we awaken our eyes to the newness of this life...wildly beautiful the space we co-create and the joy we bring in our humanity...how about the anxious space in our chest before we face down a huge fear... the excitement before  our next step...the great accomplishment...our first smile...our first tears...our happiness...our sorrows...all of us... held in this common space...quite a heavenly place we co-create in this space...we pray and ever dwell in this common grace of prayer...we can feel and know a Greater Love that Dwells Divinely in our midst..."where you are there I am", spoke Jesus standing among his friends...prayer is friendship ever growing the space between our humanity...divinely...gloriously...

For those Who Pray, are the words that are Spoken in many religious services and public events as well as many doctrines of faith communities around this world...though none of these seem to explicitly exclude anyone, it seems the practice of this is not as clearly inclusive as it is written...

"For Those Who Pray"...when we consider the moment of any one child's birth or the very honoring of one person's death, we cross thresholds of this common space forgetting what has divided us dwelling richly within our common Presence of prayer...Let us pray in this Peace that hold these Beginnings of Our Lives so tenderly awakening the community that cherishes life...all throughout our days...let us begin to see that there is not a war upon us like many voices are tending to these days but a Greater Challenge to Live our Prayer, that Golden Rule that reigns within spiritual communities, binds up the wounds that this constant state of violence perpetuates by refusing to deny our humanity intimately, by honoring our humanity and by doing the same...the same Love that holds a new born child and the body that a soul has left, the tears that wash away the shame of our horror as we mourn, the joyous balm of tears that resound praise for the life that has and ever shall be ours...friend...

My prayer is that we are those who pray, caring well for the golden light of our humanity, pondering prayer as a common space among and within...sharing and cherishing our friendship as we honor the Holy Spirit Who Moves within in all of us...Peace from those who pray, Peace in every way, peace upon our silence, Peace upon our actions, Peace upon our words, Peace upon our hearts, Peace upon our Beginnings Forevermore...
